🌱 Agricultural trade plays a crucial role in building fairer, more resilient and sustainable food systems. But how can local markets, cross-border trade and regional exchanges contribute to strengthening food sovereignty and ensuring equitable access to food?
Through its webinar series, “Rethinking Agricultural Trade for Food Sovereignty and Justice,” the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation invites participants to critically examine the trade dynamics shaping food systems across the Global South.
🌾 The Role of Local Markets and Regional Exchanges
The second webinar will explore how local and informal food markets, cross-border exchanges and regional integration can support small-scale producers, strengthen local livelihoods and improve access to food. It will also highlight practical experiences and opportunities to build more inclusive and resilient regional food systems.
🎙️ Featuring Sabrina Masinjila, Rodrigo Teles and Fama Gueye, with Refiloe Joala as moderator, the discussion will bring perspectives from the field to the forefront and explore how existing practices can contribute to advancing food sovereignty.
